Everything was not going according to plan despite being in a position that gave her the advantage. Stomping down on the panel when the lights went out, she gave him a lopsided grin, “Why are the bad guys always so cute—” Did he just say he’s not with them?
Well that’s embarrassing—
“—-Come again?” Flashlight shone in her face, she squints her eyes and glowers a bit, waving her hand to block out the bright beam, “Did you say you’re not one of them? So I don’t have to kick your pretty ass?”
Well, that certainly changes things.
“How do I know you’re not lying? Who the hell are you?” Crouching, she peers at him, gazing into his shadowed lagoon eyes with her own hazel orbs to try and figure out who he was. Every moment they spent there, however, was a moment closer to being caught, “They’re going to be here any minute y’know… So best be quick with those answers, amigo or we’re both gonna end up food for the undead.”
Just as she said that, a couple screens in the control room flicker on, flashing with pictures of armed men rushing towards their location.
"Ah, looks like the calvaries arrived.. If you’re not with them.. We ought to vamoose before they get here.” Smiling cheerily towards him, Tempy hops off the control before hitting another couple of buttons.
Self destruct sequence initiated..
“The rest of the prisoners are dead.. They injected them with drugs. S’why I managed to squeeze out.. Idiots actually fell for it when I acted like I was having a seizure. And don’t worry, this place isn’t gonna blow up just yet.. This’ll work as a nifty distraction so we can get the hell out of dodge.”
“Shall we, Mr. whatever-you-are?”
Well that wasn’t a comment that when unheard. The smirk that faintly worked his way to his lips was unstoppable as he curiously waited for the woman to back down. He wasn’t on there side— and now he had something to tease her about. “Not with the guys running this place.”
Leon gave a nod. Confirming her questions. However he knew those next couple questions out of her mouth were coming. Welp he had nothing to lie about honestly. But the woman certainly didn’t know that. He’d just have to prove it. “I’m with the D.S.O.” He started. “An agent— and I am aware. I just took a few of the loons out before I crossed paths with you. And with a place this big I’m sure they’ve got a lot of men stationed here.”
Eye flicker to the screens that flash back to life. Well is that wasn’t perfect timing he didn’t know what was. An old saying came to mind, speak of the devil and he shall appear. A scowl worked at the corner of Leon’s lips as his attention shifted back to the woman. Whoever she was.
What was she doing at that control panel?
—-Oh no.
“Self destruct. You set the self—” He wasn’t even going to finish his statement. A sigh is dragged from his lips as he listens to the woman’s brief rundown as to why she was still alive. That was believable. However Leon isn’t feeling all to confident about this bomb she just set in motion. “Well I’m glad to hear that— but I don’t want to take any risks with being blow into pieces. So yes, we shall, Mrs. Whoever-you-are.”
Fingers cross the keys swiftly, moving with intention as each tap - tap echoes in the small control room slowly working through the coding. Rapid motions; swift and with purpose knowing if she missteps even slightly she will alert the whole facility to her location.
The sound of a heavy wind blowing down the corridors says that something is going on somewhere nearby. Another heavy wind blows, and suddenly — Pur your hands up and step away from the system
“Damnit..” The redhead mutters. The wind blows through the corridor again more ruthlessly than before with a heavy clink-clink-clink before a faint light starts to shine through the windows of the control room. She hopes the brief flash of light would be enough at the sudden opening of the bay doors, spinning around, her leg comes up sharply aiming her knee upward to knock the gun upward before sending fingers towards his lower torso just above his groin intending to strike the nerves in the area. The intention was to momentarily stun him allowing her to continue her attack.
Should she succeed, she would brace a hand against the panel behind her, kicking one foot up before pressing it towards his stomach, then the next trying to send the tip of her boot up to kick him before following it with the second one using the momentum to flip her backward onto the control panels themselves.
“Not going back!” she calls, trying to jump passed him in an effort to escape, “You assholes enjoy the little gift I left! Just a goodbye and won’t miss ya sorta gift for locking me up!” That is - if she did it right… And as she says this, the lights suddenly go out in their sector.
The soft cuss that slips pasts the woman’s lips doesn’t go unheard. It only raises his sense of defense. His gloves release of soft sound as his grips tighten on his fire arm. Everything and anything was to excepted, and he was ready for this woman to try anything for her to get out of this situation. If she worked here, she’d certainly put up a fight and make a run for it. It happened every time, Leon noticed, on other prior missions.
Lagoon blue hues flicker to the light, only for a second before he snaps his gaze back to the redhead. Boy was he glad he did because she had chosen to take that chance to pull a move on him. It actually works, because his gun is sent up in the air flying as she knees it from his hold. That pulled a sour look of his features as he pivoted on his feet, making a failed attempt to block the next attack that is thrown at him. With a grunt he finds himself stumbling back as her swung up leg plants a foot square into his stomach. Leon is luckily quick enough to deflect the next kick that is sent at him, his forearms bracing up a shield from her boot.
He’s reaching for his knife about the time she suddenly shouts at him. Well that was certainly questionable. Had she been one of the few to have gotten captured by the people running his hidden facility? Gaze meets up to the woman who was now threateningly positioned on the panel.
’No wait— I’m not with them!’ He replied in defense, straightening his posture as he stands tall. A hand raised in a sign of surrender. Leon isn’t allowed the time to retrieve his badge to prove his statement, because the lights suddenly flash out, and the pair were left in darkness. Blindly he pats around for his flashlight, pulling it out of his pocket and switching on. The soft beam of light steadily mains towards the woman.
professionalbabaFrozen terrain encased the land with such brutality it left wind-swept glaciers whispering of secrets unspoken for thousands of years. The sky was as dark as the blackest stone, glistening of its nightly terrors as storm clouds erupted overhead threatening to flash-freeze anything foolish enough to be outside in the harsh weather.
Beyond the icy front of the mountainous terrain lay the mazes of carved out stone and rooms, hidden passages making it difficult to find ones way unless they knew precisely where they might be going. Humans, and the inhuman mutated viruses flourish here as guards and various villains locked away for the unsuspecting wanderer seeking shelter.
Many become trapped and a part of the forgotten.. The lost who are infused with viruses by the terrorists funding such a large, hidden research facility.
The sound of bare feet clap against the ground as a lone figure rushes through the halls. She’s obtained a gun, but she knows it won’t be enough if she comes across the stronger monsters in the facility. Freezing up as she comes to a corner, she looks around, then cautiously leans out to see passed the edge.. It was eerily empty.. The scent of blood on the air tells her someone else has already been here.. But it was too clean to have been an infected.
Slipping around the corner, she rushes into the storage locker where she finds her things and onward into the control room, searching for the quickest way out. Counting the bombs she has left, she has just enough to knock only a small section of the facility out.. There’s no way she can reach her goal once she’s hacked the system and obtained the data she needs.
“Damnit..” Temperance mutters, sliding a card into the system, she goes to work. She knew her time was limited especially if she triggers an alarm.. And if she does, she would most certainly be dead.
Blue orbs meet with the brewing storm over head, its thickening dull clouds draping over the inky blackness of the night sky. Shelter was needed. Needed real soon. Nothing lived in this frozen terrain year around. Because it couldn’t. Daytime was dangerous. Nighttime was risky, with more so of dropping temperatures. Add a threatening storm— suicide. A simple human body would be lucky enough to not freeze to death against such a chill.
Straining against the whipping winds of the mountainous landscape, the figure pushes forward. Particles of snow and ice stinging against flushed skin like a thousand little bees. But by a chance of pure fate, God just may have been on his side. Just this once. Because hes found himself dropping through one of the entrances of his mission’s location. Already by scaling down just one hallway this place was a maze. Corners here. Corners there.
Where they lead? Not a clue.
The thick, ice covered hoodie is pulled from atop the agent’s head and the half mask clinging to his face is yanked down between gloved fingers. Allowing him to breath in thick muggy air with free lips, rather than the mouth drying air filtered though his mask. It was better then the chilled climate outside, but it wasn’t clean or crisp either.
His entranced had evidently drawn unwanted attention, because the agent hadn’t even made it down his second hallway of choice before there were a pair of arms locking around his body. Squeezing him as he was lifted up and thrown aside. It’s with a sharp smack he hits the ground, softly groaning as he gets himself up. Finding that now he was in a hustle with an fairly beefed up guard. A little ways behind him. A couple more armed blokes.
Leon Kennedy and his way with luck strikes again.
Of course, the men are dealt with. After a minor struggle with combat in the limited space in between the hall and a few lip busting blows and punches, the lethal blow of a knife did the trick to silence his attackers and he continued on his mission with only a busted bleeding lip. However, the halls end is reached, drawing a soft cure from the agent as he doubles back the way he came. Taking his chances with different halls and corners. Ears catch the faintest of sound down one of the familiar halls. Movement.
Leon falls into a silence. Swift steady steps are taken before halting around the shelter of a corner. Peering into the room lit by a monitor screen, a lone figure standing before it. His best guess was one of the facilities’ researchers had spotted the agent and were obtaining what information they needed before fleeing to another base before this one was shut down. A hunch, but it was convincing enough for him to step out from around the corner and approach. Pistol cocked up and aimed center on the woman’s back.
‘Put your hands up and step away from the system.' He order roughly. 'Do it.’
