“I already used matches and determined it grows. But I need to increase the heat to see what kind of organism will pop out from it. I’m going to kill it soon after. You know, I’ve seen plenty of scifi films where everything goes wrong but look, I’m still alive even after all my experimentation. Why can’t you trust me?”

Rhi had a pleading look in her eyes that was also a saddened one. Surely, she thought after all they had been through together he could trust her to be responsible. Just this once. Honestly though she was taking her research for the government more seriously than before. Her reasons for experimentation were not as selfish either. She genuinely wanted to try to help people understand creatures like her better including but not limited to just B.O.Ws. That and the fact she was trying to get over some personal issues set off a catalyst in her head to just play around with everything.

“So am I automagically off the trust list cause I don’t live with you anymore, or—”

She gestured with her han trying to get him to respond to her. One way or another she was going to get that permit with or without his help.

The saddened look in those eyes of hers are easily noted and he frowns. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust the woman— in fact she was the most trusted person he knew along with a small number of others. He felt as though he could turn to her when he needed too. And that left him with a great feeling. Knowing that he had someone like that in his life. Slowly he shook his head.

No— it isn’t that I don’t trust you, Rhiannon. I just don’t want you getting hurt. Or anyone for that matter. You wanna do experiments for the better good. You have done such experiments, and have quickly ridden them for the safety of others. I understand that— but what if it goes wrong? Something you can’t handle? What would you do… He protested, taking upon himself to ignore her last comment. That stung. He gave a long drawn out sigh and rubbed the back of his neck. I’m only trying to watch out for you— even if it’s from a distance now. Alright?
